Michelle Matsumune, flutist, received her undergraduate music degree at Indiana University and received her MFA in flute performance from California Institute of the Arts. Ms. Matsumune has performed throughout the United States , Europe and Mexico as a soloist as well as in chamber ensembles and orchestras. She plays regularly with numerous classical chamber groups, including Duo Arioso (flute and harp), Great Notes Wind Quintet, Ceora Winds and the Resonance Flute Consort. She has also toured with Iranian pop star Moein and with the L.A. based Balinese gamelan group Burat Wangi as solo flutist. Ms. Matsumune is also active as a choral singer, and currently performs with the Wagner Ensemble as both singer and flutist. Her recording career includes CDs with Duo Arioso as well as a highly acclaimed Christmas CD with Resonance Flute Consort. Ms. Matsumune teaches privately and is the woodwind coach for the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra.
