Canadian-born Lisa Wall-Urgero considers herself a California girl, having lived most of her life there. Her first musical studies were in classical piano, but by college it became clear that her voice was her best instrument.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in music from California Lutheran University, with emphases in both piano and voice. Over the last 20 years, Lisa has taught music in elementary schools, directed choirs and musical theater productions and taught both private and group lessons in piano and voice. Lisa serves as principal pianist and vocal coach for CLU's innovative program for young singers, the CLU Summer Vocal Institute with vocalists and professors, Heidi Valencia Vas and Angela Rasmussen.
As a professional vocalist, Lisa has a variety of experience – from background vocals on Evanescence' 2006 rock album, The Open Door to chorus support for Kerry Candaele's documentary project, Following the Ninth under the baton of jazz great, David Benoit, to opera chorus at the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival.
Lisa currently serves as soprano soloist for First United Methodist Church in Pasadena. She is also proud to be participating in Ventura County's newest vocal arts group, Areté Vocal Ensemble, premiering in November of 2009.
