Dr. Brunner is in his 12th year as Director of Choral Activities at Oakwood School in North Hollywood , California where he also teaches music theory, music composition, an introductory course in Schenkerian Analysis, and 18 th century counterpoint. As a singer, he can be heard on the recent Grammy-winning Los Angeles Cappella release Padilla: Sun of Justice , music of Mexican early-Baroque composer Juan Gutierrez de Padilla . He is also on the soon to be released cds Evening Wind: Choral Music of JAC Redford and the Synagogue Service Music of Michael Isaacson. As a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Rich recorded Philip Glass' Itaipu, Salonnen's Two Swedish Love Songs , Durufle's Missa Cum Jubilo , Dominick Argento's Te Deum and Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna . While singing with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Dr. Brunner recorded the Grammy-nominated Liszt's A Faust Symphony and the Grammy-winning Beethoven: 9 th Symphony both with Sir Georg Solti.
Several of Dr. Brunner's own compositions have been performed recently, including: Sonata for Oboe and Piano and Rhapsody for English Horn and Piano by oboist Aaron Hill for recital in New Haven; Gloria for Chorus and Percussion and Scherzo for Orchestra both to be performed on a New Music Concert series in Los Angeles; Stabat Mater by Zephyr: Voices Unbound; and Psalm 67 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Pasadena. Dr. Brunner was appointed to a four year term as coordinator of the Southern California Vocal Association's Regional Honor Choirs, is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), American Federal of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and Actors Equity Association (AEA).
