Formally trained as a pianist, Suzanne grew up in a house of musicians and began playing the piano and singing in her church's children's choir at the age of four. She earned a degree in Music Education and Piano from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where it might be argued that she sang much more than she practiced the piano. After a few years of full time teaching she started working as a free lance musician and in the New York metro area and found herself doing more singing than playing. In 2004, she moved to London to pursue singing formally and study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The path of education then led her to Los Angeles, where she still resides though having finished formal studies.
A dynamic performer, Suzanne Anderson is at home in the most early and modern styles of music. She has performed with the Voices of Ascension, Choir of Trinity Wall Street, Opera Festival of New Jersey, Spoleto Festival USA Opera Chorus, Guildhall Opera Theatre, Guildhall Baroque Orchestra, New York Continuo Collective, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Redondo Beach Baroque Festival and the Millennium Consort. As a recitalist, Suzanne is an innovative programmer, often combining modern and early styles of music in concert as well as combining early instruments with modern songs. Recent collaborations have included trips to the New York and Philadelphia for programs of chamber music from the Italian and Spanish seventeenth centuries and Hungary for a series of concerts featuring the works of seventeenth century Venetian composer, Barbara Strozzi. When not singing, Suzanne works as a children's choir director and private teacher in the San Gabriel Valley .
